Do You Take Your Coffee with Rainforest?

Last summer I went to Ecuador to volunteer for the Maquipucuna Foundation. Their mission is to conserve biodiversity and natural rainforest ecosystems through a development theory of "sustainable capitalism". A lot of their work focuses around the sustainable farming and manufacturing of a product known and loved the world around:

Coffee

Coffee is an incredibly large industry. I love coffee, you love coffee, we love coffee. Just imagine how many people around the world start their day with coffee. The sustainable and fair production of this one single product, has a vast potential to impact the lives of producers, consumers, and wildlife.

When you are shopping in your average supermarket, pay attention to products marked with the Rainforest Alliance seal of approval.

The difference in price is far less than the difference you're making.
