Three Girls, a Guy, and a Podcast; Alternate Reality Check by ahymeh

Were back again with an alternate reality check featuring a random survey, coverage of the remake of the movie Drop Dead Fred, and a review of Dead Space 2.

  1. PODCAST #1:
    - It's a decent interview but could have benefitted from more focused questioning and control on the part of the interviewer. The definition and example of what a "transition town" is comes late in the interview and for the most part, get more politics than possible solutions. I liked the content but the interviewer could have engaged the topic more by backgrounding her subject and showing her own knowledge. At times it sounds less like an conversation than a monologue.
    - I love Maxon's advertisement. Very funny and great delivery.
    - Teenage Dream: I "instantly fell in love with it," "wanted to marry him" may be how the reviewer feels, but she offers very little insight as to why the song works apart from the comment on acoustics and his prior work on cover songs. I didn't learn a lot and his song felt like a long filler.

    PODCAST #2:
    - Aly's man on the street interview is actually pretty funny although there are some weird audio clicks and noises. I think she wraps it up nicely to with her comment that AC is an alternate universe.
    - The ad sounds very impromptu and does nothing to describe its special features especially in relation to other similar products on the market.
    - The piece on Drop Dead Fred does a good job describing the film's set up and I do like the addition of some audio from the movie. But although the initial review is decent, it seems that it's there mostly to prop up the solitary fact that Russell Brand is the new lead in the remake without offering any insight as to how that might effect the re-make.
